Vibration Isolation Bearings - VIB320 Features and Options: Selecting the Right PN

The Series 320 Vibration Isolation Bearing (VIB) is a passive, mechanical six-degree-of-freedom isolation bearing. It is small, efficient, and does not require air hoses or supporting hardware or software.

Vistek has a complete selection of Series 320 Bearings for a wide range of payload weight capacities, and with numerous mechanical attachment options.

Part Number Designation
The Part Number System requires you to determine the Part Number Prefix and the Part Number Suffix.

Part Number Prefix

The Part Number Prefix is that portion of the Part Number to the left of the colon (:).

Designates the bearing’s isolating weight range capacity. Make your selection from the document entitled “VIB320 Weight Capacity Size selection Chart”. Example: VIB320-3658. This call-out designates a Series 320 Vibration Isolation Bearing that will isolate a payload weighing between 36 and 58 lbs.

Part Number Suffix

The Part Number Suffix is that portion of the Part Number to the right of the colon (:).

The bearing may be bolted down to the tool frame or other support surface and it may be mechanically attached to the underside of a steel or aluminum plate, honeycomb panel, granite block or other surface. The Part Number Suffix designates both the manner in which the bearing is attached down to the frame and the manner in which it is attached to the underside of the surface above. The ‘alpha’ portion of the Part Number Suffix designates the adapter base by which the bearing will be bolted down to the frame. The numeric portion of the Part Number Suffix designates the manner in which the bearing will be bolted up to the surface above.

VIB320-xxxx:B020

VIB320-xxxx designates the weight capacity isolation range.

The ‘B’ designates that the bearing has a square adapter plate on the bottom.

The ‘020’ designates that the bearing has a 3/8-16 x 1” threaded stud on top
