Vibration Isolation Bearings

Newport's Vibration Isolation Bearings (VIBs) are passive, mechanical, six-degree-of-freedom isolation bearings. Our bearings are efficient and do not require air hoses, supporting software or hardware, maintenance or calibration. All of our passive vibration isolation products utilize our proprietary isolation bearing technology.


Our VIBs are constructed of alloy, heat-treated steel with a nickel and Teflon coating and anodized aluminum.


VIB 320 Series
The Series 320 VIB is a small, efficient bearing that can handle payloads up to 180 pounds. This bearing can be incorporated into the design of a tool or instrument that is sensitive to vibrations. The VIB300 is a passive, mechanical, six degree-of-freedom, 3 Hz bearing. The VIB320 offers high damping (13%) which ensures fast settling time in the event of impact vibrations.

VIB 410 Series
The Series 410 VIB is a larger bearing than the Series 320; handling payloads up to 950 lbs. This bearing can be incorporated into the design of a tool or instrument that is sensitive to vibrations. It can also be used in the design of a tool pedestal in order to help create a floor condition that is quiet enough to meet a tool manufacturer's specification or an industry specification.

VIB 450 Series
